At FABALP Makine, we are proud to have successfully completed our movable spot welding fixture project. This system, whose design, analysis, production, and commissioning were all carried out entirely in-house, was specially developed to increase the efficiency of welding operations and reduce operator dependency on the production line.
🔧 Project Technical Summary
This special fixture was designed as a system that moves on linear rails instead of a fixed platform. The fixture body moves forward and backward on bottom rails using pneumatic pistons, automatically reaching the welding position. The system is optimized for high-precision positioning and repeatability.

📐 Design and Simulation Process
All movement scenarios of the fixture were modeled in 3D during the CAD-based design process, and collision analyses were conducted in different positions. Additionally, using Process Simulate, robot reach checks, spot alignment, and clamping sequences were tested in a digital environment.
🏭 Manufacturing and Commissioning
The manufacturing process included:
- Welded body construction
- Machining of mounting surfaces for rails
- Installation of linear system and pneumatic pistons
- Painting and masking of protected surfaces
- In-house testing and stroke verification
- On-site commissioning and operator training
After completing all checklists, the system was commissioned in the customer’s production line and actively put into use.
